Long before Phil Boltz became a professional photographer, he was exploring his love for the art of the image. His interest in photography started when as a teenager, spending his summers overseas. On his international adventures, he took pictures of the people and cultures he witnessed. It was his travel photography, exhibited around Columbus, Ohio, that began to catch the attention of some of his first wedding clients.
Looking at Phil’s photography, one senses a great appreciation for form, composition, and the honesty of the moment captured. After working with a private wedding photography boutique for several years, he decided to start his own photography studio. Sojourner Studios is the place to find a photographer who is both creative and professional. Phil’s lightheartedness puts an anxious clients at ease in front of the camera, and his sense of humor allows him to capture the joy of each event he’s photographing. He works with his clients before, during, and after their event in order to ensure maximum satisfaction with the documentation of their day.
Today Phil focuses not only on weddings and portraits, but also on events, and commercial photojournalism such as his work for the Ohio Literacy Network, Ohio YFC, and Action for Children. He continues to travel, and has taken pictures in more than twenty countries, including recent trips to Taiwan, Israel, and France.
